We recommend the WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard: This card offers an annual round-trip companion ticket anywhere in the US, the insurance coverage is comprehensive and there are no blackouts or seat restrictions on any flights, at any time. If you fancy a once-a-year holiday with your partner or family, this is the card for you.

We don’t recommend the WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard: If you are looking for an embedded travel medical insurance package, then you might want to try other cards such as the TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite or the BMO World Elite Mastercard. Overall, the WesJet RBC World Elite Mastercard is a valuable travel card with good earn rates.

If you are looking for a card with a companion benefit, then this card is for you.

This card has an annual fee of $120 and requires either a minimum personal income of $60,000 or a household income of $100,000 to apply.

BMO World Elite Mastercard

The other card that you can sign up for is the BMO World Elite Mastercard. This card offers VIP Lounge access that comes with the complimentary Mastercard Airport Experiences membership. You also get 4 complimentary passes per year. This card also offers a welcome bonus of 35,000 points if you spend $3,000 within the first 3 months.

  • Every $1 you spend on dining, entertainment, and travel, you earn 3 BMO points
  • All other purchases, you get 2 points

The insurance coverage  is good:

  • This card will suit travelers who are not extremely frequent flyers.
  •  This card also has 14 types of insurance, which is considered the most comprehensive.
  • This is an added value if you are looking for a card with good insurance coverage.
  • Use this card when you need Alamo or National car rentals as you can get discounts.

To be eligible for this card: You need an annual income of $12,000 and the annual fee is at $150/year
