ATFX is a solid broker experience with a focus on Forex trading, $0 Commissions and trader safety and regulation. The broker offers CFDs for up to 43 currency pairs but also lends access to other assets like 86 individual Stocks and 15 international Indices in the same manner. ATFX is also regulated by the FSC (Financial Securities Commission), FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) and CySEC (Cyprus Securities Exchange Commission), which overall makes it a very safe broker.

On the not-so-good side, ATFX has a limited availability depending on the country you’re residing in, like the US, Canada and even Japan. Another detrimental aspect of the broker is that it’s sorely missing assets like Bonds and ETFs. Also, even though it offers dedicated account managers, these are only available for the most expensive types of accounts.

Overall, ATFX got a score of 83/100, which is a really good performance. The broker managed to do so well because it offers a lot of resources, including top-notch education tools for analyzing and predicting the market, a demo account and a lot more. So, if you’re interested in learning about and leaning into Forex trading, whether beginner or experienced, ATFX will be a fit nonetheless.

However, ATFX is not the best broker out there since that spot is reserved for with a performance of 91/100. This broker offers Forex, stocks, indices, cryptocurrency, bonds and ETFs, with the 2,000 available stocks being the central aspect of it. The best part about is that it handles its assets with $0 commissions and with education from 0 knowledge to full-on expert strategies for each and every asset it offers. So, if you still want to get into Forex trading but also try another couple of international assets, is the best way to go.

We analyzed hundreds of data points relevant to the costs, benefits and features of trading with ATFX and scored our findings on a 10-point scale across 10 distinct categories.

Taking the first step into investing is not an easy thing to do, and it’s even harder to do once you find there are a million brokers out there. That’s why we’ve decided to review the biggest brokers in the industry to give new or even experienced traders an insight into what really fits them the most. So, without further ado, let’s get into this ATFX review and see what it’s good at and how it compares to other brokers!

What Is ATFX?

ATFX is the commercial name of the AT Group, which has several offices in different countries so the broker can work on an international basis. The broker was founded and started working back in 2017 opening its first office in the United Kingdom. Since then the broker offers Forex, stocks, indices, commodities and cryptocurrencies for both individual and enterprise investors.

As far as we know, ATFX is not listed in any stock market whatsoever, but this doesn’t stop it from offering international assets and being available in different countries. Although, there are some restrictions when it comes to country availability, for example, you can’t create an account in the following countries.

CanadaJapanDemocratic People’s Republic of KoreaIranUnited States
YemenVanuatuTunisiaTrinidad and TobagoSri Lanka
Bosnia and HerzegovinaIraqEthiopiaSyriaSudan

That said, ATFX is mostly marketed towards residents of the United Kingdom and the overall European continent. So, let’s keep diving into what ATFX is really good at.

Pros & Cons

  • $0 Trading commissions.
  • Forex, stocks, indices, commodities and crypto availability.
  • Regulated by FCA, FCS and CySEC.
  • Partnership with Trading Central offers better tools for analyzing the market.
  • $100 USD Minimum initial deposit.
  • One of the best educational contents out there for Forex beginners.
  • MetaTrader 4 lets them offer a demo account as another educational resource.
  • Good customer support with dedicated account managers.
  • Up to £50,000 offered for customer compensation.

  • Doesn’t offer Bonds nor ETFs.
  • The stock repertoire is somewhat limited with only 86 shares available.
  • Cryptocurrencies are extremely limited, with only 4 options available.
  • Limited country availability, not including the US, Canada nor Japan.
  • Dedicated account managers and trading indicators are only available for the most expensive accounts.
  • The minimum deposit for the micro account is $100 USD, but other accounts range from $1,000, $5,000 and even $10,000, which is outrageous.

Account Types

ATFX offers 7 different account types meant for both international and UK traders. Each of these offers a distinct set of benefits for the right trader, but for the sake of consistency, we’ll cover the International accounts and first the UK only accounts.

ATFX International Accounts

Due to the inavailability of spread betting outside of the UK, ATFX needs to separate its account in 2 tiers. The one we’ll cover now are the International accounts, which are the following:

  • Micro account.
  • Classic account.
  • Premium account.
  • Raw account.

Each one serving different purposes. Here’s a table that explains the main features of the International accounts:

As you can see, the Micro, Classic and Premium accounts serve almost the same purpose, each one offering better features than the last one. Here’s a little explanation on some key features of these International accounts:

  • The Raw account is made for traders who want to spend as little as possible in commissions, including bid-ask spread prices.
  • Micro, Classic and Premium accounts have no trading commissions, but the Raw does. This compensates for the missing spread prices there, and even then, it’s a pretty standardized fee that will save you money in the long run.
  • What really changes is the minimum initial deposit requirement, but we’ll get to that later.

Overall, if you’re new to trading or even moderately experienced, we recommend the Micro or Classic accounts. They’re not that different from the Premium variant and the minimum initial deposit is quite different from account to account. If you don’t want to fully commit to this broker, a Micro account will do, but if you know what you’re doing, a Classic account should do as well.

Now let’s see how the UK only accounts compare:

ATFX UK-Only Accounts

One unique feature of ATFX is that the broker offers a completely different schematic of accounts for international and UK accounts. This is due to spread betting being only available in the UK, which motivated ATFX to offer a set of different accounts altogether. The accounts available for UK traders are the following:

  • Standard account.
  • Edge account.
  • Premium account.
  • Spread betting account.

Here’s a table depicting the main differences between the first three accounts:

Not only does spread betting has to do with these different accounts, but also the fact that there are laws that prohibit excessive leverage in some EU countries.

Here are some key findings we can note of about these accounts:

  • The standard account behaves like a mix of the Micro and Classic International accounts.
  • The edge account is somewhat of a mix of the Premium and Raw international accounts
  • The premium UK account is the equivalent of the Raw international account, but instead of a $7 USD commission per lot, this one charges a $25 USD commission per side, which can be considerably lower in some cases.

However, the spread betting account doesn’t work the same as the other UK only accounts. Here’s a table depicting the specifics:

Spread betting account conditions
Spreads from0.6 Pips
Minimum Deposit£100
Commission per side per lot0
Stop Out0.5
Maximum Leverage (Retail Clients)11:30
Expert Advisors (EAs)Allowed
Negative Balance Protection (Retail Clients)4Yes
As you can see, it already presents a difference by being the “cheapest” account to open out of all the UK exclusives

With that said, if you’re in the UK, we really recommend the standard account if you’re a trader with not a lot of experience. Instead, if you’re someone with a bit of trading history under your shoes, an edge account should do. Either way, in both cases the commitment shouldn’t be as scary as the premium $10,000 USD is, so both should be quite the fit! You could also go for a spread betting account if you feel like it, the minimum initial deposit begs the account to be opened, so why not?

So, now that we’re done, let’s get into the actual review!

Here’s a breakdown of our 10 scoring categories, each scored out of 10 for a total of 100 points.

#1 ATFX Fees: Non Existent

As we had established when talking about the different types of accounts, ATFX does not charge trade commissions. The only thing in which you will incur an expense while trading is the spread prices, which change depending on the asset and the moment you’re trading it. However, if you choose the Raw account, you will not have to pay a spread price, but there will be a $7 USD trading commission per lot you trade.

In the same $0 commission manner, ATFX does not charge traders with inactivity, deposit nor withdrawal fees. Also, most of the assets you’ll be trading here will be attached to CFDs or Contracts For Difference, which means that the broker will finance most of the price for the actual asset while you earn on the price difference. The broker offers a standard maximum 1:400 leverage for all accounts, there is no fee for this service.

Overall, ATFX understands completely how traders want a broker to work fees-wise. $0 Commissions are a great way to get started into trading with tight spreads over most of its assets. Really good performance in this category.

ATFX Fees Score: 10/10

#2 Signup Process: Almost Perfect

While we signed up in ATFX and created our account, we found the process to be extremely easy to understand and quick to complete. Luckily for us, the process is completely digital, only requiring simple information like a phone number, email, gender information and your full name at first.

When that was done, we only had to wait a full business day in order for our account to be created and verified by the ATFX team. A really simple process overall, no hard to understand steps nor complicated methods of simply creating and verifying an account. But overall, the process could be made a little bit quicker since some international brokers create accounts instantly, but that’s our only complaint.

In today’s industry, signing up with a broker can be done from your phone!

ATFX Signup Process Score: 9/10

#3 ATFX Minimum Initial Deposit: Pretty Low… At First

Back when we talked about ATFX’s account types, we also established the minimum initial deposits for each account. Here’s a table depicting all of the minimum initial deposits for all account types:

Account typesMinimum Deposit (USD)
Spread betting account (UK only)$100.00
Standard (UK only)$500.00
Edge (UK only)$5,000.00
Premium (International)$5,000.00
Premium (UK only)$10,000.00

The gap between $100 to $1,000 and even then to $5,000 and $10,000 is way too big for us to recommend an account other than the Classic one for international customers. However, if you’re a UK based trader, a spread betting account or even a standard account should both suffice unless you’re planning to go all out on ATFX.

A great performance in this category as well, at least for both Micro and Classic Accounts.

ATFX Minimum Initial Deposit Score: 10/10

#4 Ease of Use: You’ll Feel At Home With MetaTrader 4

As we’ve discovered with other similar brokers to ATFX, the main platform this broker uses is MetaTrader 4. The use of MetaTrader 4 extends to all three main platforms, desktop, web and mobile, which is good for traders already familiar with the platform.

Again, as we’ve discussed other brokers like Oinvest, MetaTrader 4 works exceptionally well, especially when it comes to Forex and Stock trading. It’s also nice to know that ATFX adds its own custom indicators for its assets so it’s got that nice extra flair that differentiates it from other brokers who also use MetaTrader 4. However, these indicators are only available for users with Premium and Raw accounts.

MetaTrader works excellently across all of its three main platforms, but one complaint we always gotta mention concerns its design. MetaTrader opts in for a simple design that just works, and it’s been that way since its creation, but when compared to other proprietary platforms in actuality, it’s safe to say that MetaTrader looks both outdated and ugly.

It’s also worth mentioning that ATFX has a special feature called Social Trading, which works like Copytrading. This consists of a way in which you can see what trades other people are doing and then you can copy those trades with only the click of a button. It’s a feature that makes trading on desktop a lot more automated, but it usually comes with a fee not disclosed by the broker.

Other than that, ATFX has a strong functional platform on desktop, mobile and web, which is always welcomed by both beginner and experienced traders alike.

A look into MetaTrader 4’s platform reveals that even though it’s resourceful, it looks a little bit plain.

ATFX Ease of Use Score: 10/10

#5 ATFX Deposit & Withdrawal Options

Here’s another category where ATFX surprised us since it offers quite the varied repertoire of deposit and withdrawal options. You can both deposit and withdraw in the following options:

  • Debit and Credit cards (Visa and Mastercard)
  • Electronic wallets (Neteller and Skrill)
  • Bank wire transfers (ACH or Smart Bank Transfers)

The best part about this is that ATFX doesn’t charge any deposit nor withdrawal fees. But on the downside, bank deposits and withdrawals take between 3 to 7 business days. Electronic wallet’s deposits and withdrawals are always instant, with an average period of 30 minutes before the balance reflects the operation. On the other hand, debit and credit card deposits and withdrawals are always subject to the receiving or emitting bank processing times. There’s also a $100 USD minimum withdrawal requirement for both electronic wallets and debit and credit cards.

Overall, ATFX doesn’t offer the most varied deposit and withdrawal options, but it offers the most commonly used ones, which is what really matters. Overall, a great performance in this category as well.

ATFX Deposit & Withdrawal Options Score: 10/10

#6 Customer Support

ATFX has great customer support, however, it’s not perfect. We find that the fact it offers 24/7 support is amazing, but the language barrier is certainly there. Here are the four languages the broker supports :

  • English
  • Spanish
  • Chinese
  • Arab

In terms of live chat and phone support, it works pretty well. Both services were easy to initiate in order to get in contact with a representative who answered our queries as of that moment. But again, the big problem here is that we never got an answer back from email support and that they have a limited amount of supported languages.

In contrast, a good feature not found in many brokers is 24/7 phone support for all countries the broker is available in. If you need to get in contact with ATFX, you can do so in the following ways:

  • Egypt: 08000009497
  • Jordan: 080022149
  • United Arab Emirates: 8000180875
  • Bahrain: 80006311
  • Saudi Arabia: 8008146165
  • Mexico +52 (55): 2881 6852

[email protected]

Weirdly, we couldn’t find any other phone lines for the UK or any other European countries.

Overall, a pretty good performance in this category, to say the least, it’s certainly nor perfect, but it does bear some great benefits other brokers don’t have. It’s still worth mentioning that the broker offers dedicated account managers, but only to Edge, Premium (International and UK only) and Raw account users.

ATFX Customer Support Score: 10/10

#7 ATFX Asset Classes

Before talking about ATFX’s assets, it’s worth mentioning that the broker applies CFDs (Contracts For Difference) on a range of assets, including:

  • Forex
  • Commodities
  • Indices

This is important to mention because CFDs are great tools for earnings, but they’re also great tools for losses. With that said, let’s get into all the assets offered by ATFX.

It’s also worth mentioning that ATFX offers spread betting only to UK accounts. Spread betting is somewhat similar to CFDs but the major feature is that these assets are not subject to tax fees. ATFX permits the use of spread betting only with Forex pairs and Metals, so remember that advantage if you’re a UK trader!

Stocks & Indices

As we had mentioned earlier, ATFX is not listed in any stock market whatsoever but that doesn’t stop it from offering a quite varied range of assets. In terms of stocks, ATFX up to 86 individual shares to trade at your own leisure. These include major American stocks like Apple, Amazon, Netflix and also major European stocks like Bayer, Adidas AG and more.

When it comes to indices, the broker offers 15 assets, including countries like China, Hong Kong, Australia, France, Japan, Germany and the US. Here’s a table of some Indices available for trading:

Index AbbreviationFull Index Name
HK 50Hong Kong HSI Index
AUS 200Australian S&P / ASX Index
EU 50Euro Stoxx 50 Index
FRA 40French CAC 40 Index
GER 30German 30 Index

US 30US Wall Street 30 Index
SPX 500US S&P 500 Index
CHI 50FTSE China A50 Index
NAS 100US NASDAQ 100 Index

Even if it doesn’t have the biggest stocks offering, Indices bring most of the diversification required to satisfy the needs of most traders.

Currency Pairs

Forex is what could be called the main selling point of ATFX. This broker offers up a total of 43 currency pairs, including majors, minors and exotics. They mostly offer major pairs, but their minor and exotic repertoires are still fairly varied. Here’s a list depicting 3 examples of each in order:

Related: Exness is a broker with an explicit focus on Forex with 107 currency pairs available. If you’re looking to focus on Forex, this might be a better option for you.

Gold & Commodities

ATFX doesn’t offer the biggest lineup of commodities since it only focuses on Gold, Silver, Oil and Gas. What’s interesting about this repertoire is that the London Gold and Silver assets are offered on a spot contract basis. Instead, WTI Oil, Brent Oil and Gas are offered on a Future contract basis with CFDs.

Aside from that, an overall limited Commodity repertoire.

Bonds & ETFs

At the current moment of writing this ATFX review, the broker does not offer bonds nor ETFs.

ATFX has a pretty small cryptocurrency repertoire, only boasting 4 assets available for trading, which are:

  • Bitcoin
  • Ethereum
  • Litecoin
  • Ripple

Overall, ATFX offers a relatively varied repertoire of assets that’s not too small nor too big. We believe that for beginner and average traders most of these assets are just enough to get by unless you’re a trader that wants to specialize in a single asset or invest in a broader range of assets.

An important part of today’s industry is being able to keep up to date at any moment of the day, something that brokers are implementing more and more.

#8 Referral Program

ATFX doesn’t have a referral program or any kind of program that bears any likeness to it. An obvious score here.

ATFX Referral Program Score: 0/10

#9 ATFX Demo Account & Educational Resources

As other brokers that boast MetaTrader 4 usage, ATFX offers a demo account without time limits. Here you can get $100,000 paper money to play around as you see fit until you feel prepared to jump to a live account and start trading. Overall, this is one of the greatest first steps you can take if you’re a beginner to trading since there’s no better way to learn than by actually doing it.

In terms of educational resources, ATFX has a pretty in-depth repertoire for all kinds of traders. The educational content you’ll find ranges from courses to video tutorials, ebooks and a lot more. One downside we could find to this is that these courses are mostly centred around Forex, but either way, they’re a nice introduction for both beginner and experienced traders.

Aside from that, every trader signed up on this broker gets access to Trading Central newsletters. Trading Central is a market analytic tool that focuses on recognizing patterns and notifying traders on possible earning strategies and trends. This is a great tool to assist traders in acting faster and trading before a possible earning chance is missed, which is always welcomed.

Overall, ATFX really puts up an effort in offering good quality educational content for both beginners and experienced traders. The broker really wants its users to understand what they’re doing and provides all the tools needed in order to consolidate good education. We really commend them for their effort in this category.

ATFX Demo Account & Educational Resources Score: 10/10

Trading today is more available than ever before, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy, so good education is a must.

#10 Safety & Regulation

Here’s another category where ATFX excels at, since user safety is one of its major concerns. Due to the fact that this broker is operating in several countries, it has the benefit of being regulated by multiple corporations at an international level. As of the moment of writing this ATFX review, the broker is regulated mainly by three entities, which are:

  • Financial Services Commission of Mauritius (FSC).
  • Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
  • Cyprus Securities Exchange Commission (CySEC).

All of these corporations are well known to be the heaviest regulators in their respective countries, which ends up giving ATFX a lot of recognition. The more regulation a broker has, the safer a trader will be from the broker taking advantage with inflated prices or high commissions, which is always welcomed.

Aside from that, the broker also has some safety measures applied to prevent monetarily damage to all traders. The first method they use is fund segregation, where the traders’ investments are held in a dedicated account away from the company’s own funds to prevent money laundering. They also apply the Financial Services Compensation Scheme’s (FSCS) protection in which every trader is protected up to a total amount of £50,000 if the broker fails its repayment’s claims.

All in all, there’s no doubt about ATFX being a safe broker or not. It’s a highly safe and regulated broker with respectable consumer-friendly features where the trader is never at a risk. ATFX gets a perfect score in this category.

ATFX Safety & Regulation Score: 10/10

While researching 100+ of the world’s top brokers, we’ve noticed what works and what doesn’t from the customer’s point of view. That’s why our final test for any broker is to compare it to, which scores 91/100 points across the 10 categories mentioned in this review.

ATFX vs.

Throughout the course of this review, ATFX has garnered a score of 87/100, which is a pretty solid performance on its part. But alas, according to our reviews, it couldn’t top our highest-rated broker,, which sits among the top with a 91/100. Let’s see how these compare.

Asset Classes Comparison

In this category, we established that in terms of shares, ATFX only has 86 individual shares from both American and European markets. Instead, offers up to 2,000 individual shares to trade at your leisure, from all the international markets you can think of. also has access to Bonds and ETFs, something that ATFX is, sadly, missing. These minor flaws, but major differences when comparing both brokers really show the priorities of each one. This, in turn, consolidates as the best stocks and diversification oriented broker in this scenario.

Customer Support Comparison

We’ve already established that the main weakness in the customer support category of ATFX was only supporting 4 languages and reserving account managers for the more expensive accounts. Instead, offers support in 28 languages and offers a dedicated account manager to every single trader registered. There’s not much to say rather than dominates this category with not a lot of effort on their part.

Sign Up Process And Ease of Use

ATFX has an already quick sign up process, capping at 2 days at a maximum while waiting for the broker to open your account. In this scenario, performs better, by opening accounts instantly in most cases. Aside from that, the minimum initial deposit is only $20 USD and the overall proprietary platforms look way better than MetaTrader 4 does.

So in the end, performs better in almost every category and it remains, according to us, as the best broker out there as of now. platform desktop trading stocks shares bonds etfs cryptocurrency
A little colour does wonders for the eyes…

ATFX Review In Summary

In the end, ATFX is not a bad broker at all. Garnering a score of 83/100 it outshines other brokers with its $0 commissions scheme, its Forex, stock and indices markets, its educational content and for being one of the safest and most regulated brokers out there.

If you’re a trader that wants to mainly focus on Forex but also access a varied range of assets, ATFX will be the fit for you. The best part about this is that it doesn’t matter whether you’re an experienced trader or not, since ATFX will let you use tools for both learning the theory and the practice with its educational content, its demo account and Trading Central. Simply put, a very beginner-friendly broker.

But for the same reasons we praise ATFX, we also have to praise It’s still the best beginner-friendly broker with $0 commissions we’ve seen so far. What ATFX does well, does better while especially focusing on the major range of assets available for traders. So, if you’re a trader looking to start from scratch, learn about the process and diversifying your investments, is still the better option here. So, why not join now and give it a run for its money?

Instead, if you want to read more about the broker before making a decision, you might want to read this thorough review first.
