Austin Coding Academy is a course based in Austin, Texas that can be attended:

  • Full-time
  • Part-time
  • In-person
  • Online

This school offers its students the opportunity to change their lives with a career in tech. The school is dedicated to providing students with high-quality and practical education in software development that will prepare them for jobs in the industry once they graduate.

The school doesn’t require any previous experience for students to apply or enroll, offering its students a Free 2 Week Coding Course to teach them the basics of coding with mentors who currently work in the field. After students have gone through their whole program, they can enroll in a 4-week job placement course that will teach them all the soft skills they’ll need to land a job.

Who Is It For?

Austin Coding Academy helps those who want to learn to code in Austin, Texas, become software developers in less than a year.  Applicants don’t need prior experience to join the school. That’s what the free 2-week coding course is for. To enroll in any of the school’s programs, you must have a laptop purchased in the last 5 or 6 years, a desire to improve, a willingness to take risks and a growth mindset.

Programs can be taken either full-time or part-time, so students will be able to fit the course around their schedule, but they must still have to commit to at least 15 hours for class and coursework each week. They will also have access to online tuition if they are learning from places other than Austin, but they are still required to have the availability to attend class on fixed schedules.

Features & Benefits

Here are a few of the most important features and benefits of Austin Coding Academy:

No Experience Needed

Austin Coding Academy offers the possibility to start learning a new skill from scratch at the hands of experienced instructors from day one. Many courses offer great value, but only if you already have a working knowledge of the basics. This can be particularly frustrating for someone trying to change careers but always hits a wall that won’t let them enroll due to lack of experience.

While you may take the proactive route and start researching all the information yourself, this can be a bit daunting at times, especially if you don’t even know where to start.

That’s when a course like this one, which offers a Free 2 Week Coding Course to teach you all you will need for the main track, comes in handy. While you’re likely going to have to check some of the basics out yourself, you’ll have both the support and advice from your instructors, who are the best prepared to guide you along the way and to keep you on track.

In-Person Instruction

In-person instruction creates an environment where students can concentrate better because there will be fewer distractions. This will grant them a better understanding and a higher chance of completing the course since they will also interact with instructors and peers.

A classroom also grants the opportunity to access more information since the student will be in the same place as their instructor and peers, making it easier to make themselves heard. This also makes it easier to make friends, problem-solve and build a network with people of different backgrounds.

Online Instruction

Online instruction allows students to learn from the comfort of their homes or anywhere they would like to study with the same curriculum as those who decide to take the course in person. It also provides students who live far away from the chance to enroll without relocating, making the course available for a wider base of students. This type of learning also suits students with different learning methods, letting them learn more flexibly.

The online courses that Austin Coding Academy offers can fit students' lives and activities, allowing them to be more relaxed than in a classroom environment. This option will allow people to pursue a new career path without taking the risk of leaving their old jobs until they're ready to land a new role in software development.

Mentorship

All courses have professional instructors in charge of giving each student hands-on help whenever needed. They are in charge of helping students with any problems they might run into while working on assignments. Their job is to make sure that students never get stuck.

They are the ones who support and guide students to success. Instructors have the expertise and knowledge to teach their students how to be full-stack web developers and succeed in the tech industry.

Flexible Schedule

It gives you complete control over your schedule. This is especially advantageous if you have a busy day-to-day life because you can also decide when you put in the 15 weekly hours needed for the course.

Austin Coding Academy’s program is designed to work around students’ schedules. Full-time classes allow them to dive in, while part-time evening classes let them keep their everyday jobs and fully support themselves while starting their new calling. Outside of class, the school also provides limitless mentoring to find support and help anytime they need it.

Practical Learning

Austin Coding Academy’s courses are designed to train students by practicing the skills they will need. Students have the advantage of hands-on experience, which means they'll be working on projects similar to the things they'd handle at a tech company or startup business.

This means students have the genuine experience to show and demonstrate what they’re able to do—having learnt in-demand technologies by working on hands-on projects with the help of the school’s professional instructors.

Free Material

The school's Free 2 Week Coding Course is a basic prep course that teaches students three primary coding languages, CSS, HTML, JavaScript. This course is useful for those who are new to coding or getting ready to enroll in the school's course.

Classes are taught by real web engineers currently working in the field to educate students through those 2-weeks and help them design a website during their first day.

Job Search Assistance

Austin Coding Academy offers a 4-week course dedicated to teaching students the soft skills they will need to find a job. This is the school’s main priority. Here are just some of the things they do to help you find a job:

  • Practical Projects
  • One-on-One Attention
  • Resume Building
  • Job-Finding Strategies
  • Portfolio Support
  • Networking Opportunities
  • Technical Interview Prep
  • Whiteboarding Practice

Austin Coding Academy's Full Stack Software Development track is built to take students from having no experience to ready for work in less than a year. Upon graduation, students still receive support in getting their first job from the school’s Job Placement Course, Director of Job Placement, and different employing partners.

Fast Learning

Students can learn how to do full-stack web development in less than a year. During this course, students are taught the abilities that can help them during their job search. Still, going fast doesn’t mean they graduate with a lack of knowledge in any area. Every hour they spend learning is full of significant exercises designed to assist them in learning the most sought-after skills required by many organizations across the industry.

An In-Depth Look At Every Course

Austin Coding Academy offers two different programs:

The first is the Free 2 Week Coding Course.

The second is Full Stack Software Development.

Students who enroll in any of Austin Coding Academy’s programs get training in full-stack software development. The school offers instruction from professional developers currently employed in the field, helping their students to become familiar with the most well-known coding languages for building websites, web applications, games, animations, and mobile apps. Students will learn front-end and back-end programming in these courses, which are some of today's most useful and sought-after abilities.

Their programs will cover the following aspects of programming:

Top Programming Languages. The frameworks and languages taught at Austing Coding Academy are among the top techs used today. JavaScript is the world's most-utilized programming language, with almost 70% of the world's software developers utilizing JS in their work.

Engaging and Responsive Front-End Programming. Learn about the power of JavaScript: a language used by practically every web page on the internet to show, animate, and build websites.

Use Node.js and Express.js for Powerful Back-End Building. Figure out how to gather and process information using Node.js andExpress.js, and manage databases with SQL.

Students can choose between learning in person and learning online. There is no difference in the curriculum, but there are some key differences:

In-person instruction

In the classroom, classes work around the students’ schedule so they can start their career path while still supporting themselves. Classes center around in-depth, practical learning that sets students up for accomplishment in their new profession.

Outside of class, students are relied upon to use their e-textbook, limitless mentoring, and coordinated study meetings to practice the course’s material outside of class – a piece of the school’s flipped classroom approach. By learning the theory outside the classroom, students can use class time to fabricate their projects and get input from their mentors.

Remote instruction

Remote learning has the same proven curriculum as the school’s in-person Full Stack Software Development course designed for remote learning via Zoom. Led by educators who work as expert programming engineers, classes center around in-depth, practical learning that sets students up for success in their new vocation.

To take the remote learning course, students will need to develop a lot of employable skills that will shape their minds and allow them to grow their talents and creativity, such as:

  • Collaboration
  • Self-confidence
  • Time Management
