Claim Academy is a full and part-time in-person and online school located in St. Louis, Missouri, that offers to teach its students how to code in three to five months. They offer four programs:

  • Java Full-Stack Software Development
  • C#/.Net Full-Stack Software Development
  • JavaScript Front-End Software Development
  • Cybersecurity.

These programs are offered in three different modalities:

  • Full-time in-campus
  • Part-time in-campus
  • Full and part-time online

This gives students the chance to become software developers with a schedule that fits their needs. The school also offers its students several scholarship opportunities making this a great choice for those who want to become software developers in St. Louis.

Who Is It For?

Claim Academy helps those who want to learn how to code in St. Louis, Missouri, become web developers in three to five months. This school is good for people who have a passion for learning and technology, wanting to start a career in a full-time programming position.

Even though it’s not a requirement, it helps to know a coding language before applying. The strongest applicants have used free online resources to learn as much programming as they could and built a few basic apps before attending the Bootcamp. They should also have the motivation to spend even more time studying and developing this new skill.

Still, some candidates can excel in the interview process without any experience. As long as the applicant can handle the pre-work sent to them, they will do fine during class and future careers as developers.

All students will need a laptop that they can move around easily. The operating system can be Windows, Linux or Mac, preferably running at their latest versions. Here’s a list of characteristics that every applicant should have:

  • Must proactively look for solutions.
  • Able to work in high detail under tight deadlines.
  • Obsessed with learning and improving.
  • Performance-driven.
  • Team-player.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good at time and self-management.

Features & Benefits

Here are a few of the most important features and benefits of Claim Academy:

No Experience Needed

Even though it does help to have some basic coding language when applying, it is not necessary. Some candidates excel in their application process without having any previous experience. As long as the applicant can handle the coding challenge sent to them, they will do fine during class and in their future careers as developers.

The coding challenge will show that the applicant has the motivation to spend time studying and developing this new skill. The true purpose of this is to ensure that the applicant has a real interest in what they’re aiming for.

In-Person Instruction

Claim Academy offers both full-time and evening in-person instruction. This creates an environment where students can concentrate better because there will be fewer distractions. This will grant them a better understanding and a higher chance of completing the course since they will also interact with instructors and peers.

A classroom also grants the opportunity to access more information since the student will be in the same place as their instructor and peers, making it easier to make themselves heard. This also makes it easier to make friends, problem-solve and build a network with people of different backgrounds.

All of Claim Academy's programs have the option of enrolling with an in-person instruction, and providing students with all of the benefits above mentioned.

Online Instruction

Online instruction allows students to learn from the comfort of their homes or anywhere they would like to study. It also provides students who live far away, the chance to enroll without having to relocate, making the course available for a wider base of students. This type of learning also suits students with different learning methods, letting them learn more flexibly.

The online evening courses that Claim Academy offers can fit around students' lives and activities, allowing them to be more relaxed than in a classroom environment. This type of option will allow working people to pursue a new career path without taking the risk of leaving their old jobs until they're ready to land a new role in software development.

How To Apply

Claim Academy’s application process is divided into four steps:

Step 1, Initial interview. This grants an applicant the opportunity to meet with a Student Affairs advisor. The advisor will ask basic questions to help determine if both the applicant and the school are a good fit for each other. Claim Academy also advises applicants to start applying for financial aid at this point.

Step 2, Pre-course work. If an applicant is deemed qualified for the program, they will need to register for free pre-course work. This will allow them to discover if the program is really something they are willing to invest their time and money into and allow the school to assess their ability to deal with the rigours of the program successfully.

Step 3, Technical interview. After completing the pre-work successfully, the applicant must arrange a technical interview where the instructor will ask questions about the solutions provided by the applicants to understand the logic behind them and make sure the applicant was the one to provide the solution.

Step 4, Register.  Once an applicant has successfully defended thor technical challenge, they will be encouraged to register into their program of choice. For this, they will be required to complete the school’s enrollment form and pay full tuition before starting the program orientation.
