This is an immersive, mentor-led online front-end developer course in English to get you ready for a future-proof tech career anywhere in the world. Modules you will go through
This course is completely online and in English, and it’s divided into 4 modules. Those modules will be further divided into self-instructed (SI) and team work weeks (TW).
On SI-weeks, you will work on your solo projects and learn the founding concepts and basic principles on your own, while taken by the hand by your mentor, who will be available for you all along to guide and support you.
On TW weeks you’ll spend your time on large-scale projects which need to be developed in international teams, just like at any IT company you are going to work at as a developer. Workshops are also organized for TW weeks.

In the first weeks, your learning will be focused on the universal basics of procedural programming, the ability to decompose problems and write clear code according to good practices. You will also learn the GIT version control system. Additionally, you will develop communication and planning skills, will be able to search for information more effectively and give constructive feedback.|
|Months 7 to 9: OOP||In the third module, you will learn another language – C # or Java, which are widely used in IT to build complex applications. You will learn the basics of object-oriented programming and the SOLID principles. You will also acquire application architecture design skills, and learn to write unit tests. You will learn advanced SQL queries to work with the database, as well as advanced GIT functions.|
|Months 10 to 12: Advanced||In the last module, we will prepare you for interviews, and you will explore more advanced technological issues, including multithreading, data structures and transactions in SQL. Codecool only offers two coding bootcamps at the moment. Tuition depends on the particular course and on whether or not you are a Hungarian resident, since those who are will get the 12% VAT taxes waived and can therefore access the courses at a lower price.

Codecool mentions that you can choose different types of payment plans. Something that seems like a sort of pay-when-you-work agreement, but they don’t specify how it works or what the conditions are.
As a matter of fact, the only actual options for paying tuition that they specify are payment in advance and payment in installments. The latter only applies to the Weekend Full Stack developer course, though.

How To Apply
Applying to Codecool is a simple 5-step process:
Step 1: Prerequisites survey
Answer some very simple questions on your age, educational background and English knowledge. That'll only take you 5 minutes.
Step 2: English test
You’ll have to take an online reading comprehension test in English so you have a feel of what it will be like to learn coding using English-language materials.
Step 3: Benchmark Game Or Logical Thinking Test
You’ll be tested to assess your problem-solving and analytical skills. The method depends on the course you’re applying for. In some cases, you’re tested with a fun game that’ll take you less than half an hour. In other cases, you’ll have to take Codecool’s online logical thinking test which, besides problem-solving skills also evaluates pattern recognition skills.
Step 4: Intro Video
Once you go through these 3 first stages successfully, you will be considered an eligible candidate, so the next step is to submit an introductory video talking about yourself and letting Codecool know who you are and what is your motivation to learn to code.
Step 5: The Interview
Most schools require an interview before they accept candidates into their program and Codecool isn’t the exception. Codecool offers two very good options for people who don’t have a background in coding and want to transition to a new, more fulfilling and rewarding career path in tech. Both courses are very thorough and offer a very compelling syllabus that will truly upskill you enough for a junior role as a software developer in almost any tech company. Courses are held in English and last either 4 months (for the full-time front-end development course) or 12 months (for the part-time full stack developer course).
The downsides are that they don’t offer many guarantees of actually finding a job once you graduate or at least an internship or an interview, like many of the higher-end schools do. They don’t offer an ISA or an FSA that would make it safer to invest your time and money, so, unless you land a job quickly after you graduate, you could end up with an unpleasant debt on your shoulders that could become hard to pay.
On the other hand, they do offer financing options which, when spread across 12 months turn into very reasonable payments. If you combine that with lower tuition due to a VAT waiver, it’s easy to see why this is one of the best choices for English-speaking Hungarian residents that want to learn how to code.
