If you're looking for a better way to save, we suggest taking a look at Chime. Chime doesn’t perform credit checks when you open an account, and with its unique features like automatic savings round-ups and fee-free overdraft up to $200*, you'll make the most of your hard-earned money.

With three different account types, an easy-to-use app, and no hidden fees~, we highly recommend learning more about Chime today.

CodeGym is an in-person, full-time and part-time coding bootcamp for Vietnamese-speaking students who want to learn full stack web development from zero to hero in record time. The company is based in Hanoi but it has 8 headquarters strewn across 7 Vietnamese cities, which means you’re likely to find one near you. They teach three different stacks based on Java, PHP and Microsoft’s .NET framework, which is built around the C# coding language.

Besides its quality education and impeccable track record, one of the school’s best features is the fact that it offers a 100% money-back guarantee that you’ll get your first job in IT in less than 45 days after graduation.

The only downsides to CodeGym are the fact that it doesn’t offer online courses for remote learners or a trial period to see if coding is the right choice of a career for you before committing to the tuition.

Experienced coders can also benefit from CodeGym, since they can take an assessment test and interview to assess their current skills and, if they pass, they'll be able to skip over the introductory module, jumping headfirst into the nitty-gritty details of new topics you’ll love. If you’re a Vietnamese student looking to learn how to code for a very decent living, then this could be the right choice for you.

CodeGym is an in-person Vietnamese coding bootcamp that teaches both coders and non-coders the fundamentals of software development using either Java, the .Net framework or PHP, all of which are among the most sought-after skills in the IT job market today. The school offers both an immersive full-time setup and a part-time option for any of its three core courses, provided you speak Vietnamese, and live in any of the following 7 Vietnamese provinces:

  • Hanoi.
  • Hue
  • Da Nang
  • Quang Tri
  • Viet Tri
  • Thai Nguyen
  • Vinh

CodeGym promises to turn anyone into a professional programmer in 6 to 12 months, depending on the chosen schedule. They have a focus on career development and on working on real-life problems such as the ones that students and future programmers are likely to face once they go out looking for jobs.

Who Is It For?

CodeGym is as much a school for Vietnamese-speaking students who have prior coding experience as for those who don’t. It’s ideal for those who are looking for a career change after long years working in the same profession, or even for experienced programmers who are looking to improve their game and broaden their skillset.

Students who don’t have prior coding experience will be required to take a GMAT test and an interview in order to be accepted into the program. Those who already know the fundamentals of coding will also be tested to assess their skill levels. If they do a good job in the interview and test, they’ll be admitted without having to go through the basic course.

Students are required to attend classes in person, every day of the week. so if you’re looking for an online coding bootcamp, this is not it. You need to have enough time to be able to commit to 4 or 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, plus additional time to take care of home assignments.

The part-time courses are an easier option for those with a busy schedule, which can still make it possible for you to become a professional coder within 12 months without having to quit your job.

The only thing you will need to learn how to code, besides time and effort, will be your own laptop since the school doesn’t provide you with one.

Features & Benefits

Here are a few of the most important features and benefits of CodeGym:

No Experience Needed

Having the possibility to start learning a new skill from scratch at the hands of experienced instructors from day one is something that most people will appreciate. Many coding bootcamps offer great value, but only if you already have a working knowledge of the basics like HTML, CSS and a little bit of Java. This can be particularly frustrating for someone who is trying to change careers but always hits a wall that won’t let them enroll due to lack of experience.

While you may take the proactive route and start researching all the information by yourself, this can be a bit daunting at times, especially if you don’t even know where to start. That’s when a course like the ones CodeGym offers, which lets you sign up with no previous experience at all comes in handy.

While you’re likely going to have to check some of the basics out yourself, you’ll have both the support and advice from your instructors who are the best prepared to guide you along the way and to keep you on track. You'll also have access to great free material from CodeGym themselves that will letyou get your feet wet in no time flat.

In-Person Instruction

In-person instruction creates an environment where students can concentrate better because there will be fewer distractions. This will grant them a better understanding and a higher chance of completing the course since they will also interact with instructors and peers.

A classroom also grants the opportunity to access more information since the student will be in the same place as their instructor and peers, making it easier to make themselves heard. This also makes it easier to make friends, problem-solve and build a network with people of different backgrounds.

CodeGym's educational philosophy is based around in-person collaboration and teamwork, which is exactly the kind of experience students need in order to succeed in the real world.

Mentorship

Throughout the 6 to 12 months of the course (depending on whether you choose full-time or part-time), every student always has a coach to support and guide them. The training program of a student is carefully planned out from day 1, in order to ensure you gradually build solid professional skills and develop a career based on your own particular abilities.

All courses have an instructor in charge of giving each student hands-on help whenever needed. They are in charge of leading workshops and helping students with any problems they might run into during the week. Their job at CodeGym is to make sure that students are never stuck and that they manage to get through every coding challenge successfully.

They are the coaches that support and guide students to success. Instructors have the expertise and knowledge to teach their students how to develop entire full stack projects, from start to finish, and to succeed professionally.

Flexible Schedule

If you have a busy schedule and are thinking of changing careers, but don't want to put all your eggs in one basket and quit your current job, CodeGym offers its three courses in both a full-time, 40+ hours per week modality and a part-time, 20 hours per week option you can take either in the mornings or in the evenings to give you the flexibility you need to learn how to code while you work.

This is especially advantageous if you have a busy day-to-day life, because you can also decide how many hours per week you dedicate to the course as well.

Project-based Curriculum

A project-based curriculum is a feature that not all courses offer. What this means is that CodeGym’s curriculum is built around real projects that you’ll be working on all throughout the length of the course. In short, you will learn by doing exactly the kind of things you'll be doing once you land your first job. Also, by the end of the course, you’ll have a set of fully functioning apps or other products that will now be a part of your portfolio.

For someone who just started out in the world of coding, having a set of finished products to show that goes along with the newly crafted resume can prove invaluable when it comes to finding a job in the tech industry or a related field.

Free Material

Providing training to inexperienced students or jumping right into the meat of a course is something any course provider has to juggle. On the one hand, starting from scratch will make those with prior experience feel bored from day one and they'll feel as if they're wasting their time. On the other hand, offering a course only for those who have a background in the covered topics will drive away anyone who is thinking of taking a course like CodeGym to pursue a career change or something similar.

In order to solve this issue, CodeGym offers introductory material free of charge no only to its students, but to anyone who may want to learn the basics and decide if the full, paid course is right for them.

Among other things, the CodeGym offers, completely free of charge and even without needing to register you'll find:

  • Professional articles related to IT and programming.
  • The Apprenticeship Book.
  • The Book of Skilled Workers.
  • Free programming lessons.
  • Practice problems.
  • Programming guides.
  • More programming resources
  • News

Job Guarantee

This is, without a doubt one of CodeGym's most appealing features. They ensure you'll get a job as a programmer in less than 45 days from graduation or you'll get every penny back. That means that it's in their best interest that you succeed and they'll do everything they can to make that happen.

Fast Learning

If learning how to code fast is what you're after, then CodeGym is an excellent choice. Their immersive full-time bootcamps will have you eating drinking and dreaming code week in and week out. That will allow you to learn in record time and become a professional coder.

Part-time Courses

CodeGym offers the possibility of learning a new skill or starting out on a new career path without having to stop everything else in your life. That means that you can keep your current job, or be a full-time parent, while at the same time building a better future for you and your loved ones.Only 20 hours per week of mandatory presence, plus an average 6 to 10 hours per week of extra time to practice the new skills you just learned, mean that you'll have more than enough time left in your week to take care of anything else you might need to do.

An In-Depth Look At Every Course

CodeGym offers 3 different programs, each as a full-time and a part-time course. Their programmes are:

In Summary

CodeGym is a versatile Vietnamese in-person coding bootcamp that offers both full-time and part-time solutions for those who want to learn software development either as a new career or to increase their present skillset. They offer 3 courses, each of which has both the full-time and the part-time modality totaling 6 courses. The full-time courses last 5 to 6 months, and the part-time options last twice as that, totaling 10 to 12 months. In any of those cases, you’ll be getting a total of almost 1000 hours of education, plus whatever time you dedicate to practicing by yourself.

CodeGym focuses on the three most popular web coding languages/platforms, which are Java, PHP and Microsoft .NET. After finishing any of the 6 courses, you’ll be equipped to tackle both back end and front end coding challenges, effectively turning you into a professional full stack web developer.

The school offers a money-back guarantee in case you can’t find a job within the first 45 days after graduation, which is a pretty amazing feat, considering that they claim 100% of their graduates were successful in finding IT jobs.

Even though the programs they offer are all great, the fact that they don’t offer many payment options other than monthly installments or a 5% rebate if you pay early, means that many Vietnamese nationals will have a bit of a hard time managing the fees and accessing the programs.
