Wyncode is an in-person and online, full-time and part-time coding bootcamp located in Miami, FL, that teaches full stack web development, front-end development, user experience and user interaction design and digital marketing. The school was recently bought by BrainStation, so all of their courses are now offered through the said platform, but they still offer their in-person courses in their campus dubbed Wynbase. All courses last from 10 to 13 weeks, the two full-time programs have a tuition of $15,000 while the two part-time options cost $5,000.

The best benefits that come with signing up with Wyncode are an income share agreement that lets you postpone paying tuition until you land a job that pays a $40,000 salary or higher, lifetime job support and a dedicated team to help you find your dream job.

While it's not the best choice for already experienced programmers who want to transition into full stack web development, it is an excellent, albeit slightly pricey option for newbies who want to start a new career in tech.

Wyncode is a coding school founded in Miami in 2014 by a pair of Canadians who wanted to teach people in-demand tech skills for the 21st century. They offer four courses that cover everything from front-end, back-end, UX and UI to digital marketing.

After 7 years of hard work and of teaching hundreds of students how to code, Wyndcode was chosen by none other than the tech skills teaching giant BrainStation for their most recent expansion in the United States. This means that, in the Wyndcode campus, after the transition is over, Miamians will be able to take all of BrainStation's award-winning courses including:

  • Award-winning bootcamps in Data Science, Digital Marketing, UX Design, and Web Development.
  • Cutting-edge certificate courses in the most in-demand fields, including data analytics, machine learning, Python programming, cybersecurity, digital leadership and innovation, social media marketing, and more.
  • An industry-leading hiring network, with over 3,000 hiring partners, including Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Amazon, Square, Shopify, Paypal, Priceline, Asana, and Nike. Graduate resumes will be shared with these brands, as well as Wyncode’s established network in Miami.
  • The BrainStation Career Accelerator Program, which provides ongoing career development and support, including resume writing, mock interviews, personal branding, and more.
  • Guest lectures featuring leaders and executives from the most innovative companies.
  • Exclusive access to monthly thought leadership panels with experts at leading brands across the world.
  • Access to a global network and community. BrainStation has empowered more than 100,000 professionals through their bootcamps, courses, workshops, and events, in over 90 countries around the world.

Until then, though, Wyncode will still offer its customary 4 courses to several last cohorts, so keep reading this review to find out more about what you can expect by signing up to this tech school today.

Who Is It For?

Wyncode is a school for non-coders who want to learn how to code and become either front-end or full stack web developers, all in under 12 weeks. You do not require prior experience in tech in order to succeed, but there is a set of prep work that you'll be assigned upon acceptance into the program that you must undertake before formally starting any of the courses.

The courses are offered both in-person and remotely, and you can also choose between a full-time, 35-hours-per-week schedule or a more laid-back 12-hour commitment. If you're serious about becoming a professional coder, this school is an excellent choice.

Features & Benefits

Here are a few of the most important features and benefits of Wyncode:

Well-Aligned Incentives

Wyncode offers some pretty great payment plans that seek to make your life a little bit easier while you study and even after you graduate. It aligns its goals with its students by making sure you don’t have to pay some or all of your tuition until you actually get a job in a related field. That means that they won’t get a cent until you succeed in your new career path, so it’s in their best interest to give you as much support as possible with that task.

In this sense, they offer an income share agreement according to which you can postpone payment of the tuition until after you land a job in a related field that pays at least $40,000. However, do take note that this option is only available for the full-time bootcamps, and not for the two part-time options.

No Experience Needed

Having the possibility to start learning a new skill from scratch at the hands of experienced instructors from day one is something that most people will appreciate. Many courses offer great value, but only if you already have a working knowledge of the basics. This can be particularly frustrating for someone who is trying to change careers but always hits a wall that won’t let them enroll due to lack of experience.

This doesn't happen with Wyncode, since they accept students even if they don't have a background or proven track record in tech or computer science. Having said that, you will be required to do some prep work before starting the first lessons, so that means you're going to have to check some of the basics yourself in order to be able to hand in the assignment.

In-Person Instruction

In-person instruction creates an environment where students can concentrate better because there will be fewer distractions. This will grant them a better understanding and a higher chance of completing the course since they will also interact with instructors and peers.

A classroom also grants the opportunity to access more information since the student will be in the same place as their instructor and peers, making it easier to make themselves heard. This also makes it easier to make friends, problem-solve and build a network with people of different backgrounds.

Wyncode offers their brick&mortar campus called Wynbase located in Wynwood, Miami, where they offer in-person versions of all four courses.

Online Instruction

Online instruction allows students to learn from the comfort of their homes or anywhere they would like to study. It also provides students who live far away, the chance to enroll without having to relocate, making the course available for a wider base of students. This type of learning also suits students with different learning methods, letting them learn more flexibly.

The online courses that Wyncode offers can fit around students' lives and activities, allowing them to be more relaxed than in a classroom environment. This type of option will allow working people to pursue a new career path without taking the risk of leaving their old jobs until they're ready to land a new role in software development.

Besides offering classes on-campus, students who cannot travel to Miami can also opt for the remote online courses instead. Wyncode also offers all four courses in the online modality, covering exactly the same curriculum as the in-person classes do.

Lifetime Benefits

One of the biggest selling points Wyncode has to offer, apart from high-quality courses that will turn you into a professional software developer or digital marketer in 12 weeks or less, is the fact that those who take the full-time bootcamps will receive job support for life. That means that they'll have access to a team of dedicated professionals who will help you find your dream job right after you graduate or even in the unwanted scenario that you would lose your current job.

It's a safety net that few other schools offer, especially without charging you anything extra, so it adds great value to those two courses (Full Stack Web Development and UX/UI Immersive).

Alumni Network

After graduation, everyone will receive a Wyncode exclusive invitation to join an Alumni Slack channel. In this group, graduates will be able to expand their professional network and reach out for their peers' support and recommendations.

It's a great way to meet fellow coders and to connect with people who work in an array of different companies, some of which you may be interested to work in.

Job Search Assistance

As we mentioned earlier, those who attend the full-time coding bootcamps receive job support for life. During Wyncode's courses, you'll receive training in important soft skills that will help you land the job you want, or even to succeed if you have a startup in mind. This training includes:

  • Wynwork
  • Wynterviews
  • Professional Development
  • Pitch Day
  • For Entrepreneurs
  • Be Showcased

An In-Depth Look At Every Course

Students who enroll in any of Wyncode's full-time programs get more than 350 hours worth of training in full stack web development or UX/UI design. For the part-time courses, you'll still get more than 100 hours of training in front-end web development or digital marketing.

Wyncode offers 4 different programs:

In Summary

Wyncode offers non-coders a good yet somewhat expensive option to transition into a new career in tech. However, the price point is strongly off-set by an ISA that will let you start paying only after you land a job that pays $40,000 or more, and by a lifetime job support service that is amazing value. The school, which was recently acquired by BrainStation, a big tech course provider, offers 4 courses, namely:

  • Full Stack Web Development course
  • UX/UI Immersive course
  • Part -time Front End Web Development course
  • Part-time Digital Marketing course

All courses last from 10 to 13 weeks. The two full-time programs have a tuition of $15,000 while the two part-time options cost $5,000.

If you have a laptop computer (preerably apple or linux), are over 18 want to learn how to code, you'll find the full-time course to be a great fit taht will turn you into a techie in under 3 months. On the other hand, if it's a new career you're after but you don't want to or can quit your current job in the process, the part-time options also provide similar value at a fraction of the price.
