That’s $350 from Simplii’s new No Fee Chequing welcome offer, which runs to January 31, 2027, plus the $50 referral bonus. The earlier $300 and Skip gift card offer ended September 30, 2026. You don’t type in a code: you open your account through the referrer’s link.
Simplii referral code or referral link?
Simplii’s referral program is built around a link. Every Simplii client can get a unique referral link in online or mobile banking. Simplii’s FAQ mentions a “link or code,” but the Refer a Friend terms say the friend must click through the referrer’s link to reach the application form. If you apply some other way, neither of you gets the bonus.
So the one thing to get right is where you start. Open Yore Oyster’s Simplii referral link, then fill in the application from there.

How to get the full $400, step by step
- Start from the referral link. Use the referral link and choose the No Fee Chequing Account.
- Apply as the primary account holder by January 31, 2027. The welcome offer ends at 11:59 p.m. ET that day.
- Add at least $100. Do it within six months of opening, and keep the balance at $100 or more for at least 30 days. That covers the referral bonus.
- Move a recurring direct deposit. Within 150 days of opening, point a direct deposit of at least $100 a month to the new account. Payroll, pension, Old Age Security, disability payments and EI all count, according to Simplii.
- Wait for four months in a row of deposits. Once the fourth one lands inside the 150 days, the $350 follows within three business days.
Who’s eligible, and the fine print
- You must live in Canada outside Quebec and have reached the age of majority in your province or territory. Simplii’s banking isn’t available in Quebec.
- For the referral bonus, you must have had no banking relationship with Simplii since November 1, 2017.
- For the $350, you can’t have held a Simplii product as the primary account holder on or before March 23, 2026. Interac e-transfers and transfers between accounts don’t count as direct deposits.
- Each bonus is paid once per person, no matter how many accounts you open.
- The account must be active and in good standing when each bonus is paid. Simplii can change or end any of these offers without notice.
- Stacking: the $350 welcome offer terms say it “can be combined with all other offers unless otherwise indicated.” The referral terms say that bonus can’t be combined “unless otherwise specifically communicated by Simplii Financial.” Simplii’s chequing page shows both offers together, but if the full $400 matters to you, confirm with Simplii at 1-888-723-8881.
Referral link vs. the welcome offer alone
If you go straight to simplii.com, you can still get the $350. Starting from a referral link adds the $50 referral bonus on top, for a small extra step: keeping $100 in the account for 30 days. Your direct deposit will usually cover that anyway. The referral doesn’t lower the welcome offer or add any fees.
The $350 offer ends January 31, 2027. The earlier $300 and Skip gift card offer ended September 30, 2026. Simplii can change or end offers at any time, so we’ll update this page when that happens.
Other Simplii offers for new clients
- Cash Back Visa: up to $100 cash back in your first 3 months, on up to $500 of eligible gas, grocery and drugstore purchases and pre-authorized payments. It doesn’t apply if you’ve opened or cancelled this card in the last 12 months, and the card needs credit approval.

Common questions
Do I need to enter a Simplii referral code?
No. Simplii’s terms tie the bonus to the referrer’s link. Start your application from the link and the referral is recorded for you.
Can I get the referral bonus with the Cash Back Visa instead?
Yes. If you open a Cash Back Visa through the link, spend at least $100 within six months to earn the $50. You get only one referral bonus, even if you open more than one account.
What does the person who referred me get?
Simplii pays the referrer a bonus as well. It comes from Simplii, not from your bonus, so your $50 stays the same. Yore Oyster gets a referral bonus when you use its link.
Is my money safe at Simplii?
Simplii is a division of CIBC. According to Simplii’s FAQ, your deposits are held by CIBC, a member of the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC).
Are there fees on the No Fee Chequing Account?
There are no monthly fees, and you get unlimited debit purchases, bill payments and withdrawals. Fees apply if you use an ATM outside Canada.
