Where to enter the Ibotta referral code
- Download the Ibotta app, or open Ibotta’s sign-up page.
- Start creating your account.
- When it asks for a referral code, type WYEFIGM exactly as shown.
- Finish signing up. You can’t add a code once the account exists.
Ibotta’s help center says that even when a friend sends you a link, you still need to enter the referral code when you sign up. So type it in either way.
How to get the welcome bonus
- Sign up on your own phone and enter the code during sign-up.
- Open the Bonuses page in the app to see your welcome bonus, what it pays and which offers it needs.
- Redeem those offers, for example by submitting a receipt for an Any Brand or Any Receipt offer.
- Watch the progress under In progress. When you finish, the bonus moves to Completed and the cash is added.
Rules that cancel the bonus
- Entering the code late. Ibotta can’t add a referral code after the account is created.
- Sharing a phone. Your account has to be the only Ibotta account on your device, including the device of the person who referred you.
- Having had an account before. The bonus is for people who have never had an Ibotta account.
- Opening a second account. Ibotta allows one earning account per person and deactivates extra ones.
Online Shopping offers have a pending period, so a bonus that depends on one can take longer to arrive.
Who can use this code?
Ibotta’s Terms of Use say you must be at least 18 and located in the U.S. or Puerto Rico when you use it. Alcohol offers need you to be 21. The code is for brand-new users signing up on their own device.
Ibotta is free for active users. If an account has no activity for 180 days, Ibotta deducts $3.99 from the balance every 30 days, and it never charges your bank account.
