Revenu Québec doesn't publish a payment day; it pays by cheque or direct deposit, and how often depends on the size of your allowance. The benefit year runs October 1 to September 30, and a first payment includes everything owed back to October 1.

There is no set payment day. Check My Account for individuals for your payment information. If you are expecting a payment and it hasn't arrived, check with your bank, then call Revenu Québec: 514 940-1481 (Montréal area), 418 266-1016 (Québec City area) or 1 855 291-6467 (toll-free), Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Who can get Shelter Allowance (QC)
You must live in Québec and have filed a 2025 Québec tax return. You (or your spouse) must be 50 or over by September 30, 2027, or have at least one dependent child. You must spend at least 30% of your 2025 family income on housing, and your income must be under the limit for your situation (for example $23,600 for an unreduced amount for a person 50 or over living alone). Your savings and investments must not have been over $50,000 on December 31, 2025.
How to get Shelter Allowance (QC)
Apply online in My Account for individuals at Revenu Québec, or mail form LEX-165-V with the required documents (for tenants, form LEZ-14-V and a copy of your lease). Only one person per couple applies. Deadline: September 30, 2027. www.revenuquebec.ca
